SUMMER Shooting Star CRUISE
Union Valley Reservoir

Saturday a.m. Aug 9-10th +, 2008

Again, this summer will be an amazing Shooting Star experience for the Perseid Meteor Showers with no moonlight in sight, even though the actual peak evening wont be until Monday night (for those with extra time to spend on the lake, would be worth while to stay and watch the show). And what better place to view this than on the decks of our "trailer sailor yachts". Therefore it's only fitting to spend the weekend cruising at a lake that is close to SAC but away from those city lights.

Union Valley Reservoir is just that place — a healthy wind comes up over the dam each day around 10 am and calms down around 5pm and at 4870 ft. ELE, the water is warm enough to swim. There are 2 nearby resorts to enjoy food & beverage and maybe a little music. Plus the meteor showers can be truly spectacular.

Steve & I will be Cruise leaders for this event again. We will be launching early Sat. a.m., 8/9/08, in mid afternoon. Captains meeting @ 10am Saturday on the Sunset Penninsula's launch ramp.

Saturday, 8/9/08, we plan on carpooling to Ice House Resort approx. 6:00 p.m. for dinner
